Why I Dont Buy iPhone 3G?

Finally, Steve Jobs has annouced its new toy iPhone 3G few days ago! I really love its shape, design, cool color and it fast speed 3G connection as well as A-GPS features.
Many people might think its time to buy an iPhone 3G. Apple has planned to boost its sales with so called “cheaper” price at $199. Of course with a Telco’s service contract. So, are you planning to buy one for yourself? I am not buying an iPhone 3G for myself! Why?
Why Don’t Buy iPhone 3G
It does not work what we expected as a high tech phone, although iPhone 3G has equipped with its 2 main upgrades - 3G and A-GPS. I would say it work only 50% of the features.
What will you expect from a 3G phone? Video conferencing or high speed wireless Internet? We do want both. But this latest toy just work for high speed Internet. There is no front camera for video conferencing, too bad!
As for A-GPS, it has to work together with Google Maps. How about when you are travelling without a Wifi connection or 3G? Maybe they forgot not worldwide has that kind of fast Internet speed.
More drawbacks below:
no MMS - Not even better than a old age phone.
no Video Recording - Ha? Unless third party application.
no front camera - it’s 3G, but no video conferencing.
no A2DP Bluetooth - Can’t listen stereo music via bluetooth.
still using old 2M pixels Camera
*more iPhone 3G technical specs here.
So, as a conclusion iPhone 3G is not exactly the one I’m waiting for. However, I still have to admit the latest iPhone 3G is a nice toy to have! How good it will be, if I could win a Free iPhone 3G this year?
iPhone 3G launched in WWDC 2008.

Way back in the late 70’s when Apple II came to the world to threaten the giant IBM, my first job got me involved with Apple when we developed the Citibank worldwide network called Citiflash. Let me remind you that the web was only a figment of the imagination then.
We used Apples and Japanese micros then to make the various programs for the main frames, using seven platforms in machine language. I am now a tech gadget trader in the the whole East Asia, headquartered in Hongkong, and I am still very happy using Apple products, except the for iPhone, simply because I find the mobile device very primitive.
What do I get from my other phones that also have the features of the iPhone G? I can now simultaneously watch a movie, get a steady stream of stock quotes, look at a map showing the epicenter of a recent earthquake, and compose/read my SMS. Yes, I get all these all at the same time. I use my phone as a debit card to pay for my various needs - groceries, dining, etc… including fare for the rail transit. I was pleasantly surprised that I can even shop with my phone in the malls in the Philippines, Malaysia, & Thailand. My celebrated iPhone 3G could not handle any of these. Even the camera is low-resolution compared to my 8megapixel camera phones.
If I were to make a list of the ten best mobile phones, it may land last of the ten. I strongly suggest that you examine the mobile devices available worldwide so that you can have a wider perspective.
