Web Notes Online Tools
Posted in Reviews, Software | By AhTim @ December 13th, 2008
Few companies ask me to review their software recently. Of course I want to review good software and share with my readers. Only concern is my limited time. So, wait for me to try out these recommended software first before simply write a review.
Since I don’t do “paid review”, the review won’t influence by the pay. I tried out one of them – Webnotes. It is now invite-only Beta launch.
Frankly, Webnotes online tool might not suitable for all of us here. I think most of us forgot what “note” is after school or college. But it is quite useful for Blogger. I know you may say ScribeFire better, but this is just another alternative as online research tool.
WebNotes Online Research Tools
I like its simple operation. Just 5 buttons in toolbar. In fact no need learn to use. The features for each button are:
![]()
- Sticky Note – Write your own note directly on the Webpage
- Highlighter – Highlight keywords and sentences right in the Webpage
- Share - Share the page with your own notes with friends. By email or permalink.
- Organizer - Organize your Webnotes in Webnotes Explorer
- Save to – Save Webnotes directly into folder you create.
An extra feature is it allows you to publish your Webnotes to PDF file in Webnotes Explorer. See the features demo here.
How good will be if it exist in my college time? I recommend to all students. Save time on meeting after research, especially team projects.
Any suggestion for improvement? Yes. I notice 2 little problem when using Webnotes.

First, it took over 20 seconds to open the Webnotes Explorer. Sometime I thought my Internet connection problem. But other Website just running fine. It will be better if it load faster.
Second, the Share email and permalink button fail on loading. It just prompt out “taking a long time to respond”, even after I try to reload few times.
I have 10 invites to register with Webnotes. Put your email in comment below and I’ll send you invite while stock last!
