My brother asked my help to set up private web hosting server with a domain name. He want to have full control on the server instead of rent a web space.

Every domain name need a DNS server of the Web Hosting. In this case, my brother do not have a fix ip line so have to use dynamic IP address.

Set Up Dynamic IP Hosting

To set up private hosting with dynamic IP, DynDNS service is the easiest way. After register a free account, you’ll need to buy 2 products/services: Domain Name (.com,.org,.net) and Custom DNS.

Its domain name more expensive than others, $15 USD for one. The Custom DNS is far expensive than domain name, $27.5 for a year. Anyway, we got $5 USD discount and pay off total of $37.5 USD.

For long term, it is cheaper but make sure you have backup plan on Data, Internet Connection, and Server. (more…)

Opps! Server down again!! My blog hosting service has been down since Tuesday night (3 nights). Error with ” This account has been suspend“. This is the 3rd time after I upgrade my web hosting package. Too bad!

The website and server monitoring tool really works. It informed me but I didn’t take any action. I thought it just normal server restart. After an hour, my blog still have not up. I contacted service provider via email, MSN, and SMS. They replied me via email but I’ve slept.

Your Account has been Suspended

I thought it was due to the service provider didn’t pay their bills. The error shows below.

Do you facing problem access to AhTim dot com? My blog hosting server was having intermittent problem last 3 days! It was really hard time for me. Can’t do anything, have to wait for technical support team.

I have upgraded my web hosting plan last month. It was running fine until few days back. From past 3 days, I noticed my blog down at least 1 hour each day. Just like the post title, the server down! down! down! At least 3 times exclude the time that I not online. So, the actual down time might be more!

The Hard Time

When the web server error happen, it shows “HTTP 500 Internal Server error” or “401 File Not Found, file handler error”. As I know, the web hosting server should restart by itself if anything wrong. But in my case, it just drag for unknown reason up to 1 hour. Sometime even longer. (more…)
