Twitter User Interface Redesign

The popular micro blogging site Twitter has changed the web user interface. Three main features in this release: updated tabs, new design customizer, and Ajax menu bar. It is easier to use and simplified to all at a glance view.

New Twitter Interface Design

The most significant change is the top menubar moved to right sidebar with larger icons. The following, followers and updates stats are now available on the sidebar too. We can access these info easily compare to previous interface.

“Home” and “@Replies” pages integrated with AJAX engine. The implementation let us refresh the item faster without having to refresh the whole page.

The last fun feature is the design customizer. Under “Settings” > “Design”, you may choose pre-designed themes background or your own background picture. After that you may also change the design colors, including text, links, sidebar, etc. You can select the exact color that you want using the “color wheel”. (more…)
