Need English Translator to Read Chinese Blog?

Friday, April 4th, 2008

As I announced, I have setup a new blog in dog and pet niche. The blog is mainly written in Chinese word. Since day 1, I have noticed there are quite a numbers of visitors from my blog to Dogtist.com. But what a pity, I believe most of them can’t understand Chinese word.

To benefit my English educated readers, I have installed a translator plugin named “Global Translator“. So far, I believe this is the best translator tools after my research. Now, you can read my Chinese blog in English version by click at the England flag icon, as shown in the screenshot on right.

The Global Translator is able to translate your blog to more than 10 languages (14 to be accurate). There are:

English, French, Italian, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Arabic, Russian, Greek, Dutch and Norwegian.

Other than its various languages, it did provide more powerful features:

  • Four different Translation Engines: You can choose which translation engine to use between Google Translation Engine, Babel Fish, Promt, and FreeTranslations.com. Of course, I have choose Google Translation Engine.
  • Search Engine Optimized: It simplified your permalinks by adding the language code at the beginning of all your URI. For example, in my case the Chinese version on http://dogtist.com/about will be automatically transformed in http://dogtist.com/en/about/ for English version. This is good SEO practice! (more…)
