3 ways to Increase Page Rank

What is Page Rank? PageRank is a numeric value (1 to 10) that represents how important a page is on the web. It is Google’s way of deciding a page’s importance.Normally we call PageRank as “PR”.

Since PR refer to a page’s importance, higher PR page will show in higher position in search results. Hence it is important to build a high PR page if you are keen to increase traffics. People will then easier to reach your blog.

How Page Rank Works?

Before talk about the ways to increase PR, we must understand the way of how PR works. Google never reveal its current Page Rank formula calculation. But from its original formula, we know the basic concept behind it.

PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + … + PR(tn)/C(tn))

Formula above is the original Page Rank algorithm that reveal by Larry Page and Sergey Brin (Google Founders) in their publications. Not understand what the algorithm means? Don’t worry, I will explain in simple way.

In simple way, the algorithm above can be translate to

PageRank = 0.15 + 0.85 * (a “share” of the PageRank of every page that links to it)

But what does the “share” means? The “Share” means the linking page’s PageRank divided by the number of outbound links on the page. Although we do not know the exact PR algorithm, but we can conclude that a link from another site increases our site’s PageRank. Especially one way link. (more…)
