It is meaningless if we write blog everyday but no reader. Promote a blog post is like marketing for your article.

Many Blogger promote their blog in wrong way! See the title “Promote a Blog Post”. Yes, promote a post doesn’t mean to promote your domain name as a whole. Instead should promote “a” post that reader want the most.

8 Ways to Promote a Blog Post

I’m going to summarize what ProBlogger.net propose.

  • Link Bait Other Bloggers – Propose an interesting post to other bloggers in that niche. They might write and link to it if it is worth.
  • Social Messenging – Twitter, FaceBook messenging is famous and easiest way to share with friends. Don’t hesitate to share specific post that your friends interested to read.
  • Social Bookmarking – Easiest way to get notice by others. But not too often, if not people might treat you as spam.
  • Internal Links – Link back to previous post that your reader might not notice. It is another efficient way to keep reader stay in the blog longer. (more…)

Lists are powerful writing style with great effect for many years. Reader feel easier to understand and more valuable the article itself.

Just look at front page of social media (Digg, TweetMeme, Delicious) then you compare how many percentage is in list post style? I would say more than half!

This is definitely step by step to help achieve your blogging vision. Be specific, not too wide.

  • Who is Your Audience? Teen, student, parent, techie person,etc. Define and target the reader you want.
