Synchronize Symbian Mobile Wireless [How to]

Snap photo and play music is basic features in my Nokia N82. But it always tedious need a USB cable to transfer photos and music files. I use both home and office computer. Don’t say bring cable along, I don’t want to become cable guy.
After research, I found there is way to make Nokia N82 work like iPod touch. It can be synchronize with desktop computer without wire!
Telexy Networks SymSMB
You need this app called SymSMB from Telexy Networks to enable folder sharing on your Symbian phone. I expect you have already read my post “Transfer files to iPod touch wirelessly“. It is almost the same concept, so I don’t need to explain much.
You may download and purchase the license with a small fee for genuine version. If not, search for “unsigned” version in forums. After installation, your Symbian mobile phone is just like another computer in your network. You can share folders, map folders, access files, copy files easily. All done via wireless connection.
I think the app name SymSMB refer to “Symbian Samba”? Samba is network sharing technology used in Linux. It is the best file sharing protocol so far.

My two cents
Now, I can copy (synchronize) my favourite music, photo, or video to N82 directly. Just access the share folder from “My Network Places” and start transfer files.
No doubt it is easy, but the transfer rate is under my expectation. I thought the N82 wifi chipset 802.11g should run as fast as iPod touch. It just don’t! Anyway, SymSMB made my N82 more flexible when dealing with data.

Nice piece of information, why not just using nokia PC suite (for PC) or Nokia equivalent piece of software for Mac, though?
