Set Gmail as Default Email Client in Firefox

I believe most of blogger here own a Gmail account. You might using email client to access Gmail with IMAP. How about if we want to receive and send Gmail in the latest Firefox 3?

Did you experienced computer open up Outlook Express when you click on email address? I’m sure you did. All the above can be resolve by apply few simple steps:

1) Login to Gmail.
2) In Gmail, copy and paste the following javascript codes into your browser’s address bar and hit enter.

mail.google.com/mail/?extsrc=mailto&url=%s”,”Gmail”)

3) Click “Add Application” when you are prompted. Now, you just added Gmail to your browser’s list of mail clients.

4) To set Gmail as default, click on this link and you will be prompted with a dialog box listing available email applications. Choose Gmail and checking “Remember my choice for mailto links”.

My two cents

These steps above provided by Gmail. But I set it up successfully using the first 2 steps. Don’t ask me why. It just work for me after I’ve enter the javascript codes. Hope it work for you too. Set up default email client in 10 seconds! :)
