Review my Ipod Touch 16GB

After received my Ipod Touch 16GB, I have tried to familiar with it’s features and also start to setup my own customized Ipod applications set. This is my first Apple high tech gadget, it is so luxury, slim, compact and solid in it’s design. I was so surprised with it’s features below:

1. Large and Sharp display screen

With it’s 3.5 inch wide gorgeous screen, I can browse my photos clearly and it does fit in sufficient applications to choose on the screen. The high resolution of 480×320 on this screen make our view clearer, even the smallest word when browsing internet.

2. Slim and Compact

It is so easy to carry and keep with it’s 8mm thickness. Although it is slim but it is very solid with it’s solid silver metal on the back. In overall, it is slim yet solid.

3. Fast transfer rate

Since my Ipod Touch got huge 16GB diskspace, I transfer all songs on my computer into it. It took just about 10 minutes to transfer 800+ songs (more than 3.6GB). Really excited with the transfer speed! :)

4. The Multi-Touch

With it’s new age multi-touch technology, I feel it so comfort to flick through photos, movies, and files through my finger. Further more, it only need 2 fingers to zoom in photo. I love the sensitive touch even the screen covered with protector.

5. Accelerometer

The accelerometer detects when you rotate iPod touch from portrait to landscape, then automatically changes the contents of the display, so you immediately see the entire width of a web page, your music in Cover Flow, or a photo in its proper aspect ratio. Now we could turn around photo with more fun. :)

My two cents

Nothing is perfect in this world, so do Ipod Touch! But, I still like this Ipod Touch very much. Initially I thought want to sell off this Ipod Touch and buy a labtop for myself. But now I need to rethink. :)

These are some drawbacks that I found on Ipod Touch 16GB:

Lack of build in speaker to listen music.

Limited application, especially on office application

No bluetooth

Using BSD subsystem OS, no user friendly file transfer method, at least at this moment. But according to Apple, there will be more user friendly applications coming out after Apple release it’s SDK on February 2008.

Since this Apple product is still new, I believe more developers are jumping into this market. Hopefully more useful applications in the future can benefit iPod Touch user just like me.

It was so nice to listen music with iPod Touch. By using iTunes I can select songs easily with the new cover flow feature.

I watch my Shanghai vacation video clip with my Ipod Touch on stand.
