Posted in Gadgets, Reviews | By AhTim @ February 13th, 2009
When I received the gifts from LiveSpeakR, it didn’t has proper printed box. This due to Chinese New Year holiday season and they have promised to send out the item that week. They kept the promise. I so proud that I’m one of the first user that receive this new LiveSpeakR in the world!
Since I’m one of the first, you maybe don’t know what LiveSpeakR is. Do you?
What is LiveSpeakR? LiveSpeakR is a unique ultra-portable speaker system that fits in your pocket! It features a set of high quality speakers that fold-up and store conveniently behind the device for maximum portability. The speakers can be expand and rotate to work for both landscape and portrait modes.
Let’s review some noticeable advantage of this portable sound speakers system.
- Provide a sound boost to the iPod touch and iPhone. I swear the sound produce doesn’t lose to your normal computer speaker. Plus it has surrounding sound. That’s why I said the sound bigger than it’s size.
- Transform 3-click system make it move like Transformer. Make storage and setup easier. It also flexible that support multiple viewing angles.
- Should say it is “Real” portable speakers system. Build-in re-chargeable Lithium Ion Battery. Let your iPhone or iPod shout out loud even without a wall power plug, during vacation.
Further, it is compatible and work with iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPod Touch, iPod Touch 2G and iPod Classic. I hope they don’t stop here, but keep improve for better.
Suggestions for improvement:
- Ugly Audio jack design – The wire plug in the the audio jack is not convenient. Audio jack build into the cradle better.
- Power on/off switch difficult to use. It is too short and tight. Unable to switch by using finger, have to use nail. Prefer a push button instead of slide button.
- No battery Level Indicator – We will be very upset if the battery gone half way on picnic day. Perhaps a battery indicator could notify us earlier for recharge.

My two cents
Without LiveSpeakR, I don’t know how to make iPod Touch 2nd Gen stand? The stylist curve on the edge make iPod hard to stand on table. I believe your hand must tired after watching few video clips. Hence LiveSpeakR not only speaker solution, but also a “holder” solution.
Tips: By default the audio line on top, suitable for iPhone. You need to unplug the cradle and route the audio line to bottom if you use iPod Touch. It is now selling at $100 USD directly from LiveSpeakR store.
