Resolved: Feed Redirection Error!
Posted in Blog Tips | By AhTim @ April 21st, 2008
Huh~ Finally it’s over. It was really a nightmare for me. The feed redirection error happened last week cause me spent so much time on it. Not only wasting my time, energy and spirit, my feed reader drop down tremendously. Since I have use most of my time to check on feed error instead of blogging, I have no article throughout the weekend.
How to Resolve?
The temporary solution that I mentioned in my previous post – Feed Redirection Error is incorrect. Eventually, the redirection method that I use make my rss subscribers unable to feed any post. So, do not ever try to use the redirection method when you have feed error! I have disabled the redirection plugin.
After check on feedburner’s forum and Google, there is not much help. Their situation are differ from mine. I thought it was due to php coding space line problem. After check on my wp rss php codes, all looks fine. At last, I do a query on my wordpress mysql database for the word http://AhTim.com/feed/. It prompt me some results, including the setting at AntiLeech plugin.

I am curious why Antileech has this feed url inside. After check and read the plugin instruction carefully, I found that I have input the wrong feedburner url. I thought I should put in the blog source feed url but it is not. No wander when I use Feed Validator to validate my feed, it keep prompting out the feed redirection error. It keep mentioned that the feed redirect to itself. Now after I delete off the wrong feedburner url and put in the correct one, my feed at http://AhTim.com/feed/ works perfectly!
The Feed Error Effect
My rss subscribers has been drop tremendously due to the feed error. As shown in the screenshot below, it drop once to lowest 46 subscribers only! This make me farer from my aim to hit 100 rss subscribers end of this month. Please help to spread this blog to all your friends if you think my blog is worth your read.

My two cents
The moral of this experience is Read Instructions carefully before you download, install or activate plugins on your blog. Or you will regreat if problem occurs. Now, I learned to be more careful when implement new things.
