It is meaningless if we write blog everyday but no reader. Promote a blog post is like marketing for your article.

Many Blogger promote their blog in wrong way! See the title “Promote a Blog Post”. Yes, promote a post doesn’t mean to promote your domain name as a whole. Instead should promote “a” post that reader want the most.

8 Ways to Promote a Blog Post

I’m going to summarize what ProBlogger.net propose.

  • Link Bait Other Bloggers – Propose an interesting post to other bloggers in that niche. They might write and link to it if it is worth.
  • Social Messenging – Twitter, FaceBook messenging is famous and easiest way to share with friends. Don’t hesitate to share specific post that your friends interested to read.
  • Social Bookmarking – Easiest way to get notice by others. But not too often, if not people might treat you as spam.
  • Internal Links – Link back to previous post that your reader might not notice. It is another efficient way to keep reader stay in the blog longer.
  • Newsletter – If you have email newsletter service, send out a list of latest or most popular post to them.
  • Comment on other Blogs and Forums – Provide solution in blogs and forums closely related to your post.  Don’t write all, link back to your post.
  • Email Signature – Adding links to your latest post in outgoing emails.
  • Advertise the Post – Direct method of marketing is advertise. Remember not always homepage URL, advertise individual page too.

Thats a nice list, one thing i must agree with you is social bookmarking, we have to make user to submit it into bookmarking sites, if we did so, some of them who are the hot users in that particular social sites will call us a blogspammer… so we have to alert.. but ahtim why there is no social bookmarking url or logo in your site, except tweetmeme??..
