Nokia has just launched its new toy Nokia N78 few months ago. I heard the phone model from radio. It’s full features really impressed me! Before this, I thought iPhone 3G is the best phone although has many drawbacks. iPhone 3G can be hack and work like a tiny computer with third party software install.

I know the previous N series phone N95 has full features too. But it is too bulky as a phone. N78 is just a normal candybar phone size. Let’s compare Nokia N78 and iPhone 3G side by side.

Nokia N78 VS iPhone 3G

There are full specs comparison available online. To make it easy to understand, I just list down important features for both.

3G Video Call Yes No
Wifi 802.11g 802.11g
FM Transmitter Yes No
Video Speed 15fps 30fps

There are many more details here. I just list down the specs that help us differentiate both phone pros and cons.

The Pros and Cons

From the matrix table above, I can summarized that Nokia N78 has been fully integrated with all latest features. Its camera and 3G video call function is the key features ahead iPhone 3G. The drawback is small screen and without the “touch”. Just imagine how you going to surf net or blogging using key press on tiny screen?

For iPhone 3G, it is still best phone for multimedia entertainment. Its big screen, huge capacity and fast video playback speed make video run smoothly and higher quality.

My two cents

Surprisingly, Nokia added in a bonus feature “FM Transmitter” into N78. Means you can broadcast your music to any FM radio! Just like how I broadcast my iPod touch music :) Nokia N78 will be second choice in my wish list. Anybody is using Nokia N78 here?

So Which one should i buy?

@equinoxiax: Depends on your usage. If you want multimedia and websurfing features, iPhone is good choice. The product is mature, but accessories are expensive.

    “Video Speed 15fps 30fps”
did you mean iPhone 3G can capture video with its camera?
N78 can record 15fps video but it can play 30fps mp4.

  7. AhTim Says:

@skyline100: I mean the video playing capability. Not recording.

    anyway…
i Love N78 . It used to be buggy, but now after flash upgrade, everything works just fine. I can use it instead real laptop on the go, in the term of publishing, posting, and emailing, ..the only concer nI have against this phone is the odd USB connector which is rarely used, thus u have to keep the original cable with it, if you wanna enjoy fast speed USB. The memory card can be upgraded up to 8 GB. Quality of the photos is above moderate. Now, the price dropped more than 200 $ !! So the best choice fr the phone, is N78 under 300 $. YOu can;t beat that price !
