If I not mistaken, my friend asked me is there any software to monitor Internet bandwidth for a single computer?
At that time, I thought only proxy server able to do that. Hence this is not applicable for individual computer or small office. Now, I know I am wrong when I saw the bandwidth monitoring tool - Bit Meter II.
Monitor Your Internet Bandwidth
Bit Meter II is a bandwidth meter that help you monitor Internet connection by plotting real time graph. It shows different colors for upload and download. Red is download, Green is upload and Yellow is total for both.
To see all at a glance, can use its statistics window. The statistics data contain historical data for last few hours, days or weeks.
This is very useful if you are troubleshooting your Internet connection or spyware. Some 3G broadband provider limit the download size to few gigabits per month. This Bit Meter can help to monitor the broadband status well.

You can download and install Bit Meter II (~1.06MB) within minutes. No configuration is needed. And of course, it’s Free! No ads, no trial period, no limited features.
My two cents
I have installed on my computer. It runs well to monitor my download status. The screenshot above (red color graph) showed my bandwidth status when browse a few youtube videos at the same time. It is quite heavy actually.
Do you think it is time to upgrade my bandwidth?
