Maybank Email Steal Account Password

Another forgery website that steal people’s money from Maybank account.
Today I received an email from Maybank ask me to unblock my account. It is the first time. I thought someone try to hack my account password.
The email looks so real, Maybank logo, sender from Maybank.com.my and the font type. But when I mouse over the link, it is not pointing to Maybank official website, instead is a long subdomain.

At this point I know it probably is spam Website. To confirm, I click on it and Firefox prompt out a warning “Reported Web Forgery”. Means it is a fake duplicated Website.

Just imagine how terrible if you are the one who enter your account and password there? The hacker can just use your account id to transfer out money to himself. This is old password stealing method, but still working.
Fortunately I use Firefox. Its high security protect us from enter into such forgery or spam Website. Are you using Firefox too?

This got to be an inside job, based on my own experience, I received a similiar email on ‘resetting my password’.
Question is:
- How do they know which email to send to?
- How do they know I have a Maybank2u account registered with the email address?
- Why did I receive this email on the next day I sign up with Maybank2u.com.my?
It gotta be an inside job, somebody is harvesting the email and selling it to scammers! So far, no scam mails for my Public Bank Account.
