It’s time to Interview with Pro-Blogger. Today I’m glad to Interview with one of the famous blogger, Hongkiat. Hongkiat is a Web designer and developer that very pro in Graphic Design.

Hongkiat blog about Tech, Online tips, and Graphic Design stuffs. I like most of his post about Graphics Design, PhotoShop Tutorial, Wallpaper and Icon. I never seen such talented graphic design blogger like him!

Interview Hongkiat

Let’s see how this Pro-Blogger answer my interview question. And think what can we learn from him?

1. How long have you been blogging here?

Hongkiat: 19 months to be exact.

AhTim: Not a long time, but already have more than 4500 RSS subscribers. Cool!

2. What is the biggest difference before and after enter to the blogging world?

Hongkiat: The biggest difference is perhaps, I’m sticking in front of the computer more often.

AhTim: Hopefully blogging won’t make you wear thick glasses when you getting old.

3. What method(s) you use to increase Blog’s traffic?

Hongkiat: I used a couple of methods, and they varies when I think they blog has reached a certain level. Let me just share few methods that I think for sure to gain traffics.

• Guest blogging/ paid author on other blog - This is good, it not only increase your traffic but also the credibility. Just make sure you are writing for someone top-tier in your niche with high readership (at least someone higher than you). One more thing, write quality content.
• Leave comments - Before you get traffic from someone, you leave an impression, more like awareness. Constructive comments help build reputation and drives people to your site. Again, you need to be the first 5 to leave comment on some high traffic blog.
• Ping/Submit to Social Bookmarks - Submit good contents to social bookmarking sites like Digg, Reddit, Delicious. Don’t be shy asking for votes, after all if the content is good people will just love to give you a thumbs up.

AhTim: Just wondering do you accept me as guest blogger at Hongkiat.com? I believe it will gain me traffics for sure. I think these proven methods, really are effective techniques to increase traffics.

4. What topic your reader like the most?

Hongkiat: Topics related to web design, web develop, digital inspirational material, soft technology and perhaps some money making tips

AhTim: I really enjoy your “Digital Inspirational Material”. Keep up your good work!

5. When and How many hours you use for blogging in a day?

Hongkiat: 2 hours/weekday, 6 hours/weekend

AhTim: This is pretty short. You are definitely have good time management skill.

6. Any advice for people who want to be Pro-Blogger?

Hongkiat: You’ll just have to believe that it will work for you (maybe someday in future) and keep on putting effort to it. Try to put that make-money-with-blog thing slightly aside and concentrate on the bigger picture, which is building a quality content blog.

AhTim: Yeah! I believe myself will become a Pro-Blogger too, one day.

My two cents

If you have noticed, Hongkiat is really a smart blogger that fully utilise his strength – Art Design into blogging. I think this is the main factor make his blog stand out and differentiate others. Congratulations to him the RSS subscribers has been increased from 1.5k to 4.5k within just few months! That’s great.

I believe everyone that have 3P: passion, patient and persistent will success their life! Pro-Blogger is just part of the life.
