IBM Lotus Symphony, Free Office Suite

If you are Open Source supporter, I am sure you familiar with the name of Open Source Office Suite such as Open Office (by Sun Microsystems) and Star Office in Google Pack. Now, you can have another Free Office Suite named IBM Lotus Symphony (by IBM).

Why use IBM Lotus Symphony?

Lotus Symphony won in the Office Productivity Software category beating out other nominees Microsoft Office, OpenOffice 2.3.1 and Think Free Office. hence no worries on its friendliness and features. Since Lotus Symphony is based on OpenOffice.org Technology and supports the ODF (Open Document Format) standard, so it is Free of Charge.

There are three applications that make up Lotus Symphony: Lotus Symphony Documents, Lotus Symphony Spreadsheets, Lotus Symphony Presentations. In my opinion, Lotus Symphony is perfect for business users. It meet office operation requirements yet it is Free!

How to use Lotus Symhony?

It is as easy as your Microsoft Office Suite. See the screenshot of spreadsheet below, its simple interface and easy to click toolbar make your documents complete promptly.

IBM has build a Gallery for us to download common templates. Those useful templates free us some time and ease our job.

Lotus Symphony is currently available in Windows and Linux platform. You should experience the free tools and freedom of documents format by Download IBM Lotus Symphony (~196MB). Be petience and you will be serve with it’s fruits.

Although I myself have not test Lotus Symphony, I am so excited to share this good news with you. I believe this free office suite is another turn point in office suite history.

Now, you are no more need to pay hundreds bucks for Microsoft Office Suite or take a risk to use it’s pirated copy. IBM Lotus Symhony is the solution! :)

    Open Office is my choice until now..Open Office is a great since then I leave behind another office application..anyway why not try this one?
