How To Reset Linksys Wireless Router

I received a request to setup temporary wireless network in meeting room. This is to support 10 marketing counterpart from Shanghai.
The fastest way is to reset my spare Linksys wireless router WRT54G2. I thought it should be reset by press the button once. I was wrong! Need to press the RESET button and HOLD for 30 seconds.

Default IP address is 192.168.1.1. Administrator user name is blank, password is admin.
LinkSys Router PIN Security
I use web admin to setup the temporary SSID, WPA2 security passphrase and DHCP. That’s it. Plug in and it work.
One feature to highlight in WRT54G2, it has PIN number at back of the router label. For newer laptop, it require 8 characters PIN in order to make connection.
This mean anonymous can’t even guess your passphrase before can make a connection. One more security level protection huh? But quite troublesome for me.

Are you sure you need 30 seconds to reset it? I’m using linksys WIFI router too. I thought you just need to press the reset button until all the LED flash to reset the router? Anyway, sometimes it’s hard to think of a wifi security password as they required us to set only certain amount of characters.

@Kit Kat: 30 seconds according to manual. Use WPA2 is more secure without fix amount of character.
