How To Organize iPod touch Apps?

The best part about iPod touch / iPhone is not only the device itself, but also plenty of interesting and useful apps from iTunes Store. I’m now having 90+ apps in my iPod touch 2G!

Just imagine one page contains 16 apps, I need to scroll up to 6 pages to find an app. Of course the spotlight search might help, but how about we forgot the app name?

Categories Organizer App

In order to make iPod apps tidy and clean, I need an app named Categories. So sad it only available for jailbreak iPod / iPhone. Fortunately, I’m on it.

Categories app help to create Category Folders with the name you want. Then you can add in those apps into respective folders, such as Games, Utilities, Internet, etc.

Finally, exit and it will restart your Spring board. Now my apps are all neat and tidy with only 2 pages. You can install categories app from Cydia. Yes, it is free to install. ;)

    hi,very nice and informative tips.
i have an ipod touch, and currently have like 50-60 videos on it, many of them are related, and would like to organize them into some type of folders… is this possible?

When I connect my iPod touch to itunes and sync the iPod, itunes automatically deletes some of the apps on my iPod touch. This gets really annoying and I need to know how to stop itunes from removing my apps. Also, I cannot drag my apps from itunes into my iPod, so I have to redownload the apps directly onto my touch. Any advise to fix problem will be appreciated.

My guess is that the default setting is that data get´s synchronized automatically. You have to set it to manual first. You can then put anything on your IPod you want and then put the autosync back on.
