How to make your Blog STAND OUT ?

Why STAND OUT ?

When your visitors come to your blog and leave, what make them remember and revisit your blog ? If your blog nothing special, the visitors would not come back again. So, why do not make your blog STAND OUT by creating a Favicon ?

What is Favicon ?

I am not sure where the word Favicon come from, but I guess the word Favicon means "Favorite Icon". As you see the picture on left, I have use my favorite car model - New Beetle 2005 Red Color as a favicon for my blog AhTim.com.

This means when you surfing my blog here, you could see the special New Beetle favicon at my url. This definitely impress visitors on your blog.

How to create Favicon ?

1. Make a small 16×16 pixel GIF Or PNG image

2. Save the image as "favicon.ico" and upload to your blog's root directory

3. Put the codes below in between the head tags

Change the above URL to the URL of your favicon.ico file and you are done! Now, whenever your visitors visit your blog, they will see your personalize favicon near your URL and this make your blog STAND OUT!

My two cents

After make this favicon, I am sure your blog will look more professional and STAND OUT!

Tips: When you make the small 16×16 pixels image, find an image with dark color and focus on impress angle. You can see the picture if you fit complete picture into 16×16 pixels image.
