What is Flock ?
Flock is more than a normal web browser, so called a social web browser that based on the open source project Mozilla with web 2.0 interface
Why it can be called as a social browser? Because of its integrated with many social networking and social media services such as flickr, twitter, del.icio.us, etc. Flock changing the purpose of a browser from a non-integrated window into the web and bringing your favorite social applications one step closer.

Why must use Flock ?
I would say Flock 1.0 is a very useful web browser for bloggers or advance Internet users. You could control most of the internet services that you need at a glance. For example, you can reach friends across multiple networks at Twitter or share photo at Flickr without come out from your Flock browser. Futher more, you could access to your feeds and blog editor within the browser itself. Cool isn’t it?
One of the feature that impressed me very much was the Me.dium extension. Since Flock is using Mozilla engine, it is flexible enough to equiped with extensions. So what so special with the Me.dium extension for Flock? With Me.dium you and your friends can see each other moving around the internet just like the screenshot below. This means you and your friends can surf the web together and discuss about it via chat, for the first time, in real-time. (You have to register first, after installation)

If you are blogger, you even can upload your photo to Flickr and write blog within Flock with no hassle! Another new feature – Web Clipboard also allow you to drag texts, links and images as temporary cache for later use.
How to use Flock ?
It’s just like another web browser. You need to download Flock 1.0 and install by following the instruction. After done, launch Flock for the first time, then Flock will start auto detect your social service id, such as twitter, flickr, del.icio.us and login automatically for you if possible.
The main page on your Flock should be “My World“, it list out all tools and sosial service that available. So what are you waiting for?
My two cents
I read the Flock introduction on newspaper few days back, then quickly download and install on my computer. As my review above, I like Flock browser very much and hope Flock to improve more on the next version release. There are 2 parts to improve, first is on the Blog Editor tool, second is on the Flock’s performance.
For a blogger like me, the Blog Editor is lacking of many basic features such as insert link, insert image border and etc. As for the performance, I can feel the slowness when launching Flock with my Intel P4 Duo Core running 1.5GB RAM! It takes up to 10 seconds to see the “My World” page.
Why don’t install Flock 1.0 on your computer and try out yourself?

Yeah! I like Flock very much too! I also got a similar post regarding it (http://blog.techsnack.net/flock-web-20-browser), but that time only Flock 0.9. But now they reach 1.0 already. I will upgrade it tonight. But it really takes a lot of memory to launch. I can feel my Laptop lagging when i open a few tabs, while Firefox doesn’t have this issue( You have to tweak it in order to run faster. Refer my blog if you want to find out more about firefox speed). But i really like Flock’s blog editor function!
