Easy Way to Sign Symbian S60 Unsigned Application

Have you install SymSMB app successfully on your Symbian phone? You have to sign an unsigned application before you can install it on your Symbian S60 phone.

How to sign an app? You need to do a one time job with few installation and clicks. But don’t worry, it is easy to follow as long as you read carefully.

  • Download BiNPDA Security Manager package ~670kb (include 4 files: RootSign.exe, Secman.exe, S60_3_0*.sisx, S60_3_1*.sisx)
  • Double click SecMan.exe and install on your computer. This program allows you to install future “Unsigned” releases, without signing them every time.
  • Connect your phone via USB cable to computer, install s60_3_0_app_trk_2_8_6.sisx into your Symbian phone. (Of course make sure you have PC Suite installed)
  • On the phone, run the TRK app, in applications folder. When it asks for bluetooth connection, don’t turn it on, and change connection settings to USB.
  • Once done, you should see SecMan in Applications folder. Open it, and click on “Install Root Certificate”.

Now, you able to install Unsigned app.

NOTE: To install unsigned releases, use RootSiGN v1.0.exe first to sign these releases with root certificate.
