Donation: Mozilla Donates 500 Millions Grains Free Rice

It was already 10 years since Netscape launched mozilla.org to develop its open source project. It’s most well known project – Mozilla Firefox has been reached its success milestone by achieve 500 Millions downloads.

With this achievement, Mozilla willing to donate 500 Millions grains of rice to feed the world’s poor and hungry people.You could contribute part of this 500 Millions grains of rice!

How to Donate Free Rice?

Play the vocabulary game on Free Rice and donation with go to the hunger. No sign up, no login, no hassle. Just goto Free Rice homepage, answer the word meaning with objective choice. For each word you answer correctly, Mozilla donate 20 grains of rice (money earn from ads) through the UN World Food Program to help end hunger in over 75 countries.

According to the United Nations, about 25,000 people die each day from hunger or hunger-related causes, most of them children. While you answer the vocabulary game correctly, you are actually helping one of these child to have some food on that day. So why don’t join now? There is no limit, do what ever you can! :)

My two cents

Mozilla is so kind to organize this charity work. Hope the money generated from the website can save some life in poor countries. I myself have contributed 100 grains of rice to them by answered 5 question correctly! How many grains have you contributed?

    Tim a really good tool to allow anyone in the world to help the hungry in the third world. I’d be hesitant though about the evidence that the food gets to the people in need though. A good idea, but one to be wary of.
