I am so glad that internet give me the facility to see my cousin 500KM away. I am so pity that I have no more holiday after my Shanghai vacation ,not like many full time blogger can be so flexible on their working time as well as working place.
I was so surprise that my brother in law who is not an IT techie know how to utilise his bluetooth handphone as a wireless webcam! Wow, that is first time I heard and suddenly it brain storm my mind to do some research and blog about it.
How to DIY your mobile webcam?
There are few things you need to prepare:
Hardware- Usb bluetooth doogle, a symbian smartphone with bluetooth and camera ( for example Nokia N73)
Software- You need this open source mobile webcam software, SmartCam
After download, install the SmartCam software on your computer. Once complete, lunch SmartCam and start capture. I am not sure how to set handphone as webcam because I do not have a smartphone
But so far as I know you can set that.

Now,your DIY webcam is ready to connect. Make connection to your computer via bluetooth. To improve the video quality, try out different codec on SmartCam software and choose the best quality.
On your computer, you should be able to see the video start streaming from your smartphone to computer inside SmartCam window.
Once this is done, you may start to stream your video to your friend, family or to the world with your newly DIY mobile webcam by using Skype or other IM.
Enjoy DIY! Because it is free!
My two cents
As you know, I do not have a smartphone, so please try it out (if you have a smartphone) and let us know the outcome
