CNN Hologram Interview Technology

While the name of Obama is buzzing in US election, CNN has shown its high technology in news. CNN beamed a CNN correspondent image from Chicago to the CNN press center in New York City.
The interview has been done in high technology technique – hologram. The hologram image (or should say “object”) can be view in 3D 360 degree footage! That means it just like a real human object but virtual. Don’t understand? Look forward for the video clip.
How this hologram can be done? They used 44 HD cameras and 20 computers to apply the system. This is a huge system huh? I can imagine it is not easy to implement at all. I have experience to implement video conferencing device across country, but the performance is lacking. Maybe due to our lousy lease line in Malaysia.
However, some reader pointed out this is not true holographic. I not understand what is the different between the “true holographic” and fake one. Anyway, the hologram system looks so cool!
In my opinion, hologram will be the next trend for business video conferencing. It is so useful to save your flight cost and time. Of course, hi-speed bandwidth is the first factor to consider. What do you think?
