Vacation to Genting Highlands @ July 2008

Saturday, July 5th, 2008

Time flies too fast. It was 4 months ago since my last vacation to Cameron Highlands. Next week, I’m going to take a short break at Genting Highland to start second half of the year.

genting highlands

This is not the first time I been there. Sometime, we holiday there twice a year. That’s because it is not expensive, fun and not far from my home town. We like the weather, games, meals, and holiday environment there.

This time I’m going to drive until foot of mountain. Then take cable car to Genting Highland. Initially I thought to stay at Awana, the most cozy hotel at Genting. But it was fully booked. I wonder why so many people visit Genting during that period? No school holiday, not public holiday, not weekend, no special event, then why? I’ll find out the answer during my visit. (more…)

After: Vacation to Cameron Highlands @ February 2008

Friday, February 15th, 2008

It was already a week after my vacation to Cameron Highlands. I would say it was too clouded during my vacation. Our car stuck in long cars queue for about 1.5 hour in the Highway. According to Toll Plus, the queue length almost 20KM! Even their helicopter come to observe the traffics and open more lane for us.

Anyway, we still enjoy the flowers and some foods there. There are few must do if you visit Cameron Highlands:

Fried Mushroom - Nice vege snack, can buy from stall at road side (near Rose Valley)

Sweet Pearl Corn - Large, sweet and juicy corn that you never taste else where (near Cactus Farm)

Homemade Strawberry Ice-cream - Natural homemade strawberry ice-cream (near Cactus Farm)

Take tea break at Bharat Tea Plantation - We took a short break on the way down. The tea plantation screnery and carrot cake is nice :)

Waterfall - The fresh water at upper level of waterfall is cold and fresh!

Vacation to Cameron Highlands @ February 2008

Wednesday, February 6th, 2008

Its time again to take a short break on this coming holidays. It is not a long holidays for full time worker like me, just a few days. But this does not stop me and family refresh ourself in this cold highland.:)

This is my first vacation in year 2008! Total of 9 of us will be staying at Tanah Rata (Google Maps), a town at Cameron Highlands. It was 8 years since my last visit.

Since these are super peak holidays season, it is hard time for me to find suitable acommandation. Most of the charlets, bungolow, and apartments were fully booked. Finally got an expensive accommodation at newly build Arabella Apartment. The price has been raised up at least 30% compared to normal rates.

Anyway, we accept that charges since we have 9 persons to share out the fees. Hope us have a relaxing and enjoyable trip at Cameron Highlands this year.

Holiday Season

Time flies, what have you achieve throughout this year 2007? I think it’s time for all of us to review what we have done and achieve as well as plan new target for next year. In last month of the year, holiday season is surrounding us. What is your plan in holiday season this year?

As you all know, I just came back from Shanghai vacation early this month. If I’ve chance, I will plan to go Europe country. Below is places that I wish to visit for the Europe trip :)

1. Spain

  • Visit the Alhambra in Granada - The complex is very large, it occupies large portion of the city centre, so might take whole day to explore it.
  • Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao - The building itself is an extraordinary combination of interconnecting shapes. Also known as the huge copper fish on Barcelona beach. (Night stay at hoteles en españa)

Other Attractions in Spain

2. Barcelona

  • Museu Picasso - Barcelona’s most visited museum. It shows numerous works by the artist’s early years and is especially strong on his Blue Period, as well as ceramics and early works from the 1890s.
  • L’Aquàrium - I like undersea world. This ultra-modern aquarium is one of Europe’s biggest and has the world’s best collection of Mediterranean marine life. Highlights include an 80m-long shark tunnel, lots of touch-and-feel activities and a three-level interactive centre featuring everything from piranhas to penguins. (Night stay at hoteles en barcelona )
