Semiannually Earnings Report of 2008

Unconsciously, I have been blogging here for the past 6 months. I have learn lots of blogging skills from many probloggers. Some of the bloggers really kind and willing to help newbie like me. :) Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my readers’ support along my way for the past 6 months. Thanks you very much!

So, this month I am not going to reveal my SEO report, but my earnings! Since I want to become a full time blogger, this is also an important report for myself. I think this is one of the most concerning topic by all visitors here. For this time, I will discuss about the relationship between visitors and google adsense. Others make money online ads has not been include inside here.

I extract the data from AWStat and Adsense report, then paste in Google spreadsheet to generate nice graph below (import csv file is not working well). These data are based on last 100 days activity.

About Visitors

As you can see from the Visitors graph, my visitor is gradually increase until I invested $5 bucks in stumble upon to get a little surge on visitors. My visitors is keep increasing since then and end up with more than 570 visitors on slimstat results yesterday. I believe with this increment, I will get hit 100 visitors in this year soon.

About Google Adsense Earnings

As you can see from the graph below, my adsense earnings is not stable for the past 2 months. But since my visitors has been increased up to about 400-500 daily, I start to see my adsense make some real money everyday! :) This is really excited and happy experience.

Follow Up: Increase RSS Subscribers Experiment

Today is last day of February 2008. It was already 1 month since I do an increase RSS subscribers experiment. Have you tried that experiment on your blog?

As you can see the screenshot above, I got 56 average RSS subscribers after I showed my RSS feed status. The highest is 74 RSS subscribers. There are 15 more average subscribers after I showed my RSS feed status, which is 36% increament! (more…)

AhTim.com Monthly SEO report - February 2008

Its time again to reveal my SEO report for this month. Although this is a month full with holidays, I still tried my best to finish the 20 days post challenge. Even though I have finished the challenge, I still continue the challenge and try to push to 30 days challenge, 40 days challenge or more.

So do you want to know the results after the 20 days post effect?

My Monthly SEO Report

1. Alexa

My Alexa rank on last month SEO report was 224,090, it drop to 230,xxx during my vacations. After the 20 days post challenge, now went up again to 224,497. It is now quite close to my previous achievement. This is first time my rank show some decrease :(

Alexa calculate our rank based on average of 3 months traffics. Hence the effort within a month does not help much, I must continue to work hard in next 2 months to see better results.

2. Google Webmaster

Refer to the Google webmaster diagnostic, my top 10 search queries are related to mymagpic, yahoo mini pen, ipod and mac labtop. I am quite happy my blog listed in first page of google search results. Those famous keywords are mymagpic, yahoo mini pen and macbook air labtop. (more…)

3 ways to Increase Page Rank

What is Page Rank? PageRank is a numeric value (1 to 10) that represents how important a page is on the web. It is Google’s way of deciding a page’s importance.Normally we call PageRank as “PR”.

Since PR refer to a page’s importance, higher PR page will show in higher position in search results. Hence it is important to build a high PR page if you are keen to increase traffics. People will then easier to reach your blog.

How Page Rank Works?

Before talk about the ways to increase PR, we must understand the way of how PR works. Google never reveal its current Page Rank formula calculation. But from its original formula, we know the basic concept behind it.

PR(A) = (1-d) + d(PR(t1)/C(t1) + … + PR(tn)/C(tn))

Formula above is the original Page Rank algorithm that reveal by Larry Page and Sergey Brin (Google Founders) in their publications. Not understand what the algorithm means? Don’t worry, I will explain in simple way.

In simple way, the algorithm above can be translate to

PageRank = 0.15 + 0.85 * (a “share” of the PageRank of every page that links to it)

But what does the “share” means? The “Share” means the linking page’s PageRank divided by the number of outbound links on the page. Although we do not know the exact PR algorithm, but we can conclude that a link from another site increases our site’s PageRank. Especially one way link. (more…)
