Can You Make A Living From Blog?

No doubt everyone can make money from blog. Some make good income than a normal job. Where others make only pocket money or a cup of coffee.
My question is can you make a living from blog? This mean can you make enough money for your living just from blog? There is always exceptional case, but generally affected by 2 factors below. (My wife discuss this on her posts-part1 and part2 in Chinese, and now I translate and reorganize here).
Factors of Make Money Blog
Although Chrissie just blog for 6 months, she notice blog for money is not easy. Make money from blog sounds easy but not everyone can do that. Full time blogger that make a living from blog is result after lots of effort, not luck!
So, what the 2 main factors that she noticed?
- Language – Since my wife is a Chinese blogger, she know the Chinese market better. Advertiser and reader in Chinese market lesser compare to English blogger. Hence the traffics and earning should be lower. Do you notice the same problem on your local language? But an advantage she notice in local language is can build better reputation in shorter time. Many famous Chinese blogger use their reputation to market their products, eg: comic, novel, etc. And it could bring these blogger expose to wider opportunities into the real market. A good example is a lady life blogger (abig99) employed by drama producer to write drama scripts.
- Niche – She notice only Blogger in few niche is making a living: Make money online, Technology blog and special niche. Easiest niche to make money is from first 2 niches. The special niche use to build reputation too. Good example in special niche goes to “小劍劍“, a farmer. His creative home made video make his readers increase like crazy. Then he use the power of blog to market rice. It is like a branded rice in Taiwan.
My two cents
The points and examples mention in discussion is very good. As a conclusion, anyone can make a living from blog with more effort and creativity. I must believe I can make a living from blog. In fact, I’m heading towards the aim. How about you?

agree with the 1 factors and i also notice that not many make money online blog in chinese language, most are in english language. and chinese blogger make huge income with blogging usually blog something unique other than make money online blog, tech blog,

Dev is right. English blogs tend to have the most traffic. Blog about something that people are searching for information about currently, and you’re golden.
