Do you use Geocities? Back in year 1998, never heard of BlogSpot. Still remember my first free Website at Geocities during college time. It was a famous Website provider.
Geocities Close down
Yahoo! bought over Geocities in year 1999. Yahoo! quietly announced Geocities will close later this year. Perhaps after this summer.
More details will be send out to Geocities account owner this coming summer.
Yahoo! Offer Another Free Hosting?
No, Yahoo! does not offer another free hosting service. Instead it recommend you to subscribe the paid Yahoo! Web Hosting service.
My Two Cents
Is a sad news to close down such free Web hosting service after 15 years since 1994. Yahoo! has no more money to operate the service?
Recommend to migrate out from Geocities if you have one. You may want to contact me for cheap Web Hosting service.
