Can you imagine a full time blogger’s Google Adsense account’s password has been guessed by someone? Or your blog’s account password changed by someone else? So strong password is the factor to secure
your blog, website and money!

5 Rules to Stronger Password

You can set a better and stronger password with 5 simple rules. I believe if you follow the rules below, hacker might take hundred or thousand years to break your password. :)

1. Do not use password related to your personal info

Most of the people like to use password that easy to remember such as their birthday date, house location, name, age, etc. All these personal info can be guess by hacker easily by looking at your profile from Internet service.

2. Do not use enhanced password related to yourself

Some more advance user will “enhanced” their password get from personal info. For example, one may enhance their name from “George” to “G3orge” as their password. Some brute force attack can guess these enhanced password by using the special algorithm. So, do not think this is secured.

3. Do not use password that exist in dictionary

The most common password cracking technique is use the words listed in dictionary. The most silly password is use “password” as their password! :)

4. Use “sentence” or phrase that make sense to you.

To create strong password, use sentence or phrase instead of word. Normally sentence or phrase is more than a word, so it must make sense to you for easy remember. For example, “IgotoEngland@2009″ is make sense yet not easy to guess. This 17 characters password might take hundred year to crack.

5. Must have Uppercase Letters, Lowercase Letters and Numbers.

A strong password must have combination of uppercase letter, lowercase letter and numbers. The more combination you use, the harder hacker can break your password. Add in symbols in your password for stronger security.

After decide your password, use the password meter to test your password strength score. My password score is 96% secure! You guess what is my password? :)

Good tips, Ah Tim.

Also, password is something we tend to forget after an extended period of disuse. After numerous password losses, I’ve devised a trick which does away with the need to memorise each of the passwords, but I can always get them right when I need them even if I don’t remember them. :)
