Get more permanent RSS readers !

Thursday, January 31st, 2008

If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Remember to Digg it or Stumble it, if you enjoyed this post! :)

It is not easy to get all rss readers to follow your post daily.
Frankly speaking, I myself also not able to finish my favorites feeds.
I have subscribe to more than 110 feeds subscription, maybe can finish weekly or bi-weekly but not daily.

When a RSS reader not follow your post in 1 day, means you loss 1
reader in your feedburner rss stats. For bloggers have more than 1000 feeds, 10 readers are not making much difference. But as for beginner like me, this definitely affect my trust worthy from blog’s visitors.

How to get permanent RSS readers?

This is an interesting question. Permenant readers means they are
calculated in your rss feed stats even they do not read your post
daily. Of course, provided they are still your readers. To get
permanent RSS readers, you must know how feedburner works.

Feedburner count your feed request within 24 hours and display at your feedburner stats. There are 2 type of RSS subscription methods. First via feed reader subscription, second via rss email subscription. If a normal feed reader does not access to his feed reader, he is no longer counted even though he is still a subscriber. But if he subscribe via email, FeedBurner counts him as a RSS request even he never open his mailbox for few days. This mean this reader is counted as long as he still receiving your email feeds.

In this way, the reader become your permanent reader as long as they do not unsubscribe. So what do you think? Will you ask your readers to subscribe via email? or stick with normal feed reader?

If you have not subscribe to  AhTim tech blog, please subscribe via email! Help me to get at least 100 permanent RSS readers :) (more…)

Make Money Online with Private Advertising

Wednesday, January 30th, 2008

Since I setup my scratchback Top Spot in November 2007, there are only 3 buyers buy bought the links from me. At that time, I sell $5 per link for 1 month. So there is only total of $15 since I installed the scratchback widget. Last month worse no buyer, but anyway I did not take down their links for another 1 month to show my appreciation to them as my first ads buyer.

Anyway, my scratchback top spot was not doing well as what I expected. I remove it out from my blog and informed the buyers.

Why Make Money via Private Advertising?

I would like to try out the private advertising scheme as it is more flexible for advertiser, better spot and of course can earn more. Actually private advertising has been use by many pro bloggers such as Ben Cook. He is doing very well on private ads and manage to sell 4 units of 125×125 ads box. It’s total of $510 a month just from his private ads scheme on December 2007.

As for myself, I received an email to acquire for private ads and this make me think to launch my own private ads scheme.

Why Advertise on AhTim.com ?

Tuesday, January 29th, 2008

My rss readers are increasing gradually from month to month. But this is still my biggest weakness till today. According to my last SEO report, number of my rss readers is about 41 in average. Highest is 61 rss readers.

I have tried to submit my to some rss directories but doesnt help much. I hope to make some explotion on my rss subscribers. I hope to achieve 100 rss readers, but I think this is impossible unless you help me!

Experiment to Increase my RSS readers

What techniques I use to increase my rss readers? Some pro blogger mentioned we should not reveal our rss status until achieve certain stage. But some blogger doesn’t agree that, at least I am not fully agree with that concept.

Since my last blog design upgrade, I have hide out my rss status. For the past 1 month plus, my highest rss readers is 61 per day. This means it was almost 100% increment compare to my rss readers in November 2007 SEO report. (more…)
